Information evenings and workshops

Information evenings

Throughout the academic year there are a number of opportunities to meet your child's teacher. Teachers are available after school on most afternoons and go to the playground to meet and talk to families. Parents and carers can contact staff at anytime to make appointments. Beyond this we also hold more formal sessions across the year.

During the Autumn term we invite parents and carers to our first parents' evening of the academic year. This allows you to disucss how your child has settled into the new year with their class teacher. It also gives you the opportunity to look at your child's books and see their learning environment. Parents are also welcome to walk around the school to see it in its entireity.

During the Spring Term, we again will hold a more formal parents' evening where you are able to discuss progress so far with your child's class teacher and view their books.

Finally, in the Summer term and following the end of year reports, parents and carers are once again invited into school to meet with teachers. There is an option to make a more formal appointment should you wish to discuss the report further. This evening also offers you the opportunity on an informal basis to meet with your child's new teacher for the next academic year.

We offer a range of workshops to support parents and carers. These are spread across the year and include examples such as 'Stay and Learn,' reading, assessment, phonics and maths. During our termly 'Stay and Learn' sessions we focus on different curriculum areas, often linked to suggestions from parents from surveys and previous sessions.
