Useful Documents / Information:

In History we are learning about what life was like when our great grandparents were young and comparing what life was like then to now. We will also compare what our school looks like now compared to our old school building and compare how life at home may have changed in relation to toys and technology.

In Geography this term, we are learning about our local area, including our school. We will look at basic maps and learning to create our own using simple keys.

Autumn Term:

In English this term, we have started with lots of reading and writing activities about tigers! The children were very excited to find clues suggesting that a tiger had visited school. We have mixed fiction texts including 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' and 'The Dancing Tiger' with Non Fiction facts linked to our Key Stage 1 tiger, Dalla who we have adopted through the WWF. Writing opportunities include lists, letters, factfiles and descriptions.

In Maths this term we will be doing lots of work on number and place value and recapping our knowledge from Reception. We use lots of practical resources in our lessons to help us with our understanding.

In Science this term we are learning about the human body. We are learning to label parts of our bodies and looking at how our bodies change from when we are babies in terms of appearance and size etc. We will also learn about our senses and their associated body parts. and explore the basic needs of humans to survive and thrive.
