Welcome to the Eco-Schools page. * Coordinator - Miss Titchard * Why not follow us on Twitter @eco_outdoors or email us on eco_outdoors@icloud.com. * We are currently developing our gardening area, if you have any spare plant pots, large plastic boxes or tyres then we could use them to plant our vegetables. Just hand them into our school office. Thank you.

At Great Sankey Primary School, we believe it is important for children to develop an awareness of the environmental issues that affect the world around them. Through the work carried by our eco groups, pupils will take part in activities, projects and/or campaigns to help improve the pupils and parents understanding of these issues. There are nine eco topics that we cover in school. These are Water, Waste, Litter, Energy, Healthy Living, Transport, School Grounds, Biodiversity and Global. Through Warrington Borough Council we have developed the roles of Junior Safety Officers and Junior Police Cadets School Officers. We believe it is important that pupils realise the significance of these environmental issues from a young age and are given the opportunity to make their own positive contribution towards the environment.
